How does usage work?

Customer-Facing Guide
Overview
Sendblue usage is primarily based on the number of new contacts you add. A new contact is a phone number that has never been contacted before on Sendblue.
How counting works
The first time you contact a brand-new phone number, it counts toward your daily new-contact capacity.
Once that phone number already exists as a contacted recipient, ongoing messages to that same contact do not keep re-counting as new usage.
Best-practice limits
Keep new contacts per line to about 50 or fewer per day.
As a general best-practice guideline, keep total daily conversations per line around 150 or fewer.
Spread new outreach across the day instead of bunching it into a short burst.
Why pacing matters
Hitting a daily limit is not the same thing as sending too aggressively in a short window. Even if daily totals look acceptable, bursty traffic can still hurt line health.
How to monitor it
Track how many new contacts are being added each day.
Review whether outreach is evenly distributed or hitting in concentrated bursts.
If you keep reaching the ceiling, consider whether traffic should be spread across more lines or different timing windows.
