Customer-Facing Guide
What this usually means
If a call rings once, fails immediately, or seems to hang up without a normal ringing flow, the issue is usually one of three buckets: forwarding configuration, line/routing behavior, or the destination side.
The most common causes
| Cause | What it usually looks like |
|---|---|
| Forwarding setup issue | The call is routed somewhere unexpected or fails immediately after trying to forward. |
| Line / routing issue | The same behavior repeats on the same Sendblue line even when forwarding settings look correct. |
| Destination-side issue | The forwarded number or recipient side is unavailable, rejects, or does not ring normally. |
What to check first
Confirm the forwarding number is correct and fully entered.
Check whether a user-specific forwarding rule is overriding the default forwarding number.
Test whether the issue happens on one line only or across multiple lines.
If possible, test another forwarding destination to narrow down whether the issue is on the destination side.
What to gather before contacting support
The affected Sendblue line
The forwarding number you expected to use
The approximate time of a recent failed call
Whether the problem happens on every call or only some calls
