Customer-Facing Guide

Overview

The Opt-Out feature in Sendblue automatically suppresses future outbound messages to recipients who reply with standard opt-out keywords.

Supported opt-out keywords

  • STOP

  • QUIT

  • END

  • REVOKE

  • OPT OUT

  • CANCEL

  • UNSUBSCRIBE

What happens after an opt-out

  • The recipient is suppressed for future outbound messaging on the Sendblue side.

  • Messages should not resume unless the contact later replies START.

Important limitation

This suppression applies to Sendblue sending behavior. If you also text from other platforms or CRMs, you should make sure the suppression is mirrored there as well.

Best practice

  • Honor opt-outs immediately.

  • Keep suppression logic consistent across all your messaging tools.

  • Do not assume one tool automatically updates every other system you use.
